Chameleon
for flute, cello, piano
duration: 9'
Chameleon takes as its inspiration the remarkable adaptability of the chameleon to its surroundings. Its analogue in this piece is a motive, A-E-Bb-Gb, that is continuously present in various guises throughout the many changing moods of the trio. Premiered by the Amara Ensemble in 1982. A brilliant performance of Chameleon by the London-based Marsyas Trio was featured on a Facebook Live event in 2022.
