Aria

for solo tuba

duration: 2'

Aria for solo tuba is a brief, lyrical exploration of the tuba’s full range. It gives the tuba player a chance to highlight the tonal beauty of the instrument, too often neglected in the literature, and can additionally be used as an etude for dynamic and breath control. “Interesting for study and very functional in many performance settings due to its length.” Guide to the Tuba Repertoire (R. Winston Morris). Commissioned and premiered by Albert Dlugasch. Aria has been recorded on Navona Records, NV6556.
